Growers Looking at New Crops

At the Small Farms Conference in San Diego last month attendees got a startling reminder of how dire the water situation is in California, especially in the southern counties. San Diego County Farm Bureau Membership and Projects Manager Casey Anderson says the growing price of water over the last several years has changed the landscape of agriculture in their area. Anderson says the Farm Bureau is expecting to see cutbacks on water use even more this year.
