AgNeTVideo Report: Dairy at the World Ag Expo

Inside the Farm Credit Dairy Center — hundreds of exhibitors, with everything from udder cream, to insemination services, to livestock feed and seeds. In fact, more than 300 exhibitors set up inside the dairy center, where they talked with current, and perhaps future, dairy farmers. A popular attraction was the California milk advisory board booth and the Dairy Princess.

Along the outside of the dairy pavilion were dozens more dairy-related exhibits. And nearby, farmers and producers attended several seminars on topics such as the proposed federal milk marketing order, crossbreeding, virtual farm tours, and milk pricing. Back inside, the focus of the dairy check off booth was to help dairy farmers promote a positive image in their communities. Skip Hardy, a director of Dairy Management Incorporated, was on hand to discuss why a positive image is important.

The Diary Check off program had an interactive setup, where dairy producers who stopped by wrote their name on a golf ball, as a pledge to spread dairy’s good image, then dropped the ball into a giant milk jug. Booth organizers say the expo was a great way to reach thousands of people. More than 100,000 people visit the World Ag Expo every year.
