Tax and regulatory reform and a new farm bill will top the American Farm Bureau’s fall agenda, according to Farm Bureau’s executive director. Dale Moore says tax reform looks the most promising right now as lawmakers face a very busy fall schedule.
But there’s much more Farm Bureau’s pursuing.
Moore hopes the Farm Bill will be wrapped up by early next year, well before the September 30, ’18 deadline. Moore says the key to advancing the farm agenda will be navigating around must-do budget legislation.
Moore agrees there are many issues competing for floor time, but says Farm Bureau’s team is already briefing staffs on ag needs and working to be ready when leadership decides what will be on the floor next.
