Have you ever thought of using Olive Oil for something other than cooking or eating? Cathy Isom tells us what we can do with olive oil, besides eat it. That’s coming up on This Land of Ours.

Olive oil is amazing as a salad dressing; to use for sautéing vegetables and garlic and just about any favorite culinary recipe. But there are so many more ways to use olive oil, besides eating it.

One example, it can protect wood. Just mix a simple mixture of olive oil and a few drops of essential oil of lemon or lemon juice and it provides a pleasant aroma, as well as keep the wood healthy.

Olive oil is a great skin moisturizer, thanks to its vitamin E. Which is also why it’s good for shaving. Olive oil can be applied to the face, as well as the legs, for a nice clean and smooth shave  and cost half the price. Got chapped lips? Olive also great for getting those lips back to kissable.

Olive oil can also remove paint, remove stickers, condition hair and even shine stainless steel and brass items, such as sinks, stoves, mixing bowls and  fixtures. Got a squeaky hinge? Olive oil can cure that squeak, too.
