The University of Florida Citrus Research and Education Center’s new citrus tree steamer was on hand at last month’s 2015 Citrus Expo in Florida. Steaming technology is being tested as a possible cure for huanglongbing.
Project Senior Engineer Joseph Trotochaud says the center received a grant that allowed it to take this steaming technology to the next level. Trotochaud says the center was surprised how successful it was with the grant applications and that allowed it to create a complementary vehicle that can see if the treatments are helping soon after completion.
