House and Senate tax leaders are pursuing conflicting tracts on tax breaks and reform making it less likely major tax legislation will get done before the election. Pat Wolff, American Farm Bureau Federation’s tax and budget specialist, says both chambers know that they need to deal with the expired tax breaks including small business expensing for equipment which is key for agriculture. But Wolfe says the problem says the bodies are on different tracts, starting with the new Senate Finance Chair Ron Wyden.
