Government Shutdown Causes Agricultural Delays

The now weeks-long government shutdown is causing delays to major trade deals and important reports. The U.S. International Trade Commission, which is responsible for examining the United States Mexico Canada Agreement is currently out of instruction while the government is shut down. The shutdown is delaying the release of the report which Congress would then review and potentially ratify. The shutdown is also adding delays to the release of the January World Agriculture Supply and Demand report. The report is set to be released Friday, January 11th, however, the World Agricultural Outlook Board needs time to review the report before. The delay could cause some data issues for the market.
