With January being recognized as National Biotechnology Month, federal agencies have launched a new resource for biotech regulation. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Environmental Protection Agency have launched a Unified Website for Biotechnology Regulation. The new resource will be a centralized tool for anyone looking for detailed information related to biotech rules and regulations, with relevant background information and other resources related to regulatory policy.

The website was created under President Donald Trump’s Executive Order on Modernizing the Regulatory Framework for Agricultural Biotechnology Products, which U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue describes as an “essential tool” for modern farmers and ranchers. The website also describes the federal review process for certain biotech products and allows users to submit questions.
