Election Results Not a Factor in Early Farm Bill Discussions

Dan Industry News Release

election farm bill
An American Farm Bureau official told an Iowa TV station this week that the outcome of the election does not seem likely to impact the chances of an early farm bill. No matter the results, Farm Bureau’s Dale Moore said before Election Day, a push for an early farm bill is still going strong with low commodity prices and huge surpluses. He told ABC-TV 9 in Des Moines, Iowa that Farm Bureau is seeing support from both sides of the aisle for an early farm bill. Moore expects farm bill talks to start early next year in both the House and Senate agriculture committees. The 2014 Farm Bill expires in 2018, but planning is already under way for a new farm bill by agriculture groups and lawmakers.
