Citrus Regulation Scoping Meeting Scheduled

scopingThe Asian citrus psyllid (ACP) is a pest that acts as a carrier or vector spreading “huanglongbing” (HLB), a devastating disease of citrus trees. This bacterial disease is transmitted to healthy trees by the psyllid after it feeds on infected plant tissue.

The California Department of Food and Agriculture has scheduled a scoping meeting to discuss proposals for changes to the 3435 Asian Citrus Psyllid and 3439 Huanglongbing regulations. The scoping meeting will be split into two days, the first for proposed regulation changes regarding nursery stock and the second for proposed regulation changes regarding citrus commodities. Enclosed are the agendas for each day.
