The most recent devastating wildfires are over, but those affected by fire damage still have a tough road ahead. The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is providing a central resource to access the various programs available for fire relief.

cdfa“We updated this page which unfortunately we’ve had to rollout too many times during my tenure and just made that available on our homesite,” said CDFA Secretary Karen Ross. “It’s the updated information of how to apply for those funds for those families that were affected by fire.”

Several agencies offer multiple different programs designed to supplement some of the losses caused by fire damage. “A lot of the immediately available relief funds are coming through USDA Farm Service Agency, crop insurance of course, and the Natural Resource Conservation Service,” Ross noted. “In this particular set of fires, especially the ones up north really had the most impact on the cattle sector because that’s a lot of rangeland. So, losing winter forage, and fencing, outdoor buildings.”
