The agriculture industry is hoping for a good amount of rain this fall, and that can make the end of the season for almond growers a little more active than normal.

Tips During Fall Rains

University of California Cooperative Extension Farm Advisor Franz Niederholzer says nuts can be salvaged in wet weather and there are several things a grower can do in all harvest stages when the rains come. Niederholzer says the worst thing you can do is to pick up wet almonds and add them to your pile, but diligent care while on the ground after a recent rain event can save the product.
